Tissue Culture Facility

We have the capability to culture mammalian as well bacterial cells. In the Advanced Technology Research Center there is access to walk-in cold room (4ºC), walk-in warm (37ºC) room, a large steam sterilizing equipment, and circulating reverse osmosis deionized water unit.

There are a few A3/B Biological Safety Cabinets including Thermo Forma 1284 Benchtop Class II model, and dry glove boxes for anaerobic cultures. 

There are two CO2 controlled and O2/ CO2 controlled water jacketed Forma Series II 3110 incubators.  

There is a temperature controlled/ cooled 3 liter centrifuge, and a microcentrifuge for molecular biology analysis.

There is a Locator Jr. cryo biological  storage system to store cells and other components in liquid nitrogen.

There are miscellaneous durable items (e.g. pH meter, water bath, magnetic stirrer, pipetters, vacuum desiccators etc.).
